Out of all of the common forms of social media, Twitter is the one I use least of all. And even though I hardly use it, and my account has been hacked more times than I can remember, I can't bring myself to delete my account. And that's because Twitter, of all places, is how Jill and Ryan of With Love and Embers first contacted me last winter.
I have always admired Jill and Ryan's photography, and was taken aback when they contacted me expressing interest in working together someday.
I don't know if they expected me to respond right away, but I did, and after months of planning and collaboration, and the addition of Natalie Wallace from Birdhouse Productions, we came up with an idea for a styled shoot that that was near and dear to all of us because it was inspired by our past. The entire shoot was based on this idea of what it would be like to wake up and be a teenager again (in the 90's of course), spending the lazy days of summer riding bikes, hanging out by the pool, eating popsicles….all with your favorite person!
I am not going to lie, I was constantly worried during this whole process that I was doing everything wrong, that it would rain on the day of the shoot (and it almost did!), and that it wouldn't turn out the way I imagined. There was a lot of time spent putting it all together, and a lot of risks, but I'm so happy that it came out better than expected. And the icing on the cake? The shoot was featured on one of my most favorite wedding blogs, Green Wedding Shoes.
So anyway, here are some photos from the shoot! I wish I could post the video from Birdhouse Productions but I can't figure out how to do it on my blog so you'll have to go here to view it (and you should because it is fantastic).
